Cabernet Sauvignon
The Malk Family Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon is an excellent example of both the vineyard and the district. Ripe aromas of cassis extract, black cherry, and hints of spice show the classic nose of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Underlying notes of vanilla and cedar also carry through to the palate, which exhibits a full body and rich tannins allowing the wine to be appreciated now, but should age nicely for years to come.
Sauvignon Blanc
The recent sale of Sage Vineyards (located on Mt. Veeder, Napa), which was co-owned by Malk, enabled Malk Family Vineyards to acquire their 2007 Sauvignon Blanc, which is now bottled under our label. Robert Parker, the world-renowned wine critic, bestowed Sage Vineyards 2006 Sauvignon Blanc with the following rating and review:
93 POINTS : Another brilliant wine, but again, extremely limited in availability. Amazingly ripe, rich, and zesty, with loads of melon and honeyed citrus. Medium-bodied, with terrific texture and pretty good size and richness, while overall fresh and lively, this will be a treat to drink over the next several years.
