Winemaker Tasting Notes

Malk Napa Valley
Sauvignon Blanc

Release Date: May 2014

Our primary source for Sauvignon Blanc, the Ryan’s Vineyard, continues to impress us year after year. With each additional year of vine age, as well as continued efforts to perfect farming practices, the vines and grapes seem to respond nicely to any given vintage. With the 2013 vintage, fresh lime and granite notes first jump from the glass. As the wine opens more, the classic fruit blossom aromas come forward along with a sweet spice quality. The wine shows a clean and delicate entry on the palate with a creamy texture and a focused acidity. It is always interesting to note, our Sauvignon Blancs tend to be lively and fresh on the palate in their infancy, but mellow and build body as they age. We enjoy them in both expressions.
